By affiliating with our EB-5 regional center, you’ll be able to…

1. Connect your Los Angeles EB-5 project with EB-5 investors immediately.

Our California EB-5 regional center has coverage of all of Los Angeles, so regardless of what part of the city your project is in, you can raise EB-5 capital through our regional center. The EB5AN California Regional Center is approved by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), as are all of EB5AN’s other regional centers. Each of them can be found on the USCIS website.

2. Count both direct and indirect jobs toward the EB-5 program’s job creation requirement.

Project developers in Los Angeles can raise EB-5 capital more easily when their projects are affiliated with an EB-5 regional center because regional center projects can consider indirectly created jobs as part of their economic impact. Since these projects tend to have higher job creation figures, they empower EB-5 investors to meet the job creation requirement easily. With more eager EB-5 investors, developers can fund their projects with EB-5 capital as a larger percentage of the capital stack.

3. Get to work on your project right away rather than waiting for I-924 approval for a new regional center.

Our EB5AN team can carry out the regional center affiliation process promptly so you can start raising EB-5 capital for your project in L.A. We’ll collaborate with you to determine your project’s eligibility for affiliation with our EB5AN regional center in California. We’ll also help you calculate the amount of EB-5 investment funding the project can support and its potential to create an adequate number of jobs. Where are the targeted employment areas in Los Angeles?

Because targeted employment area (TEA) designation holds numerous benefits for EB-5 projects, it is important to understand both the benefits of and the USCIS process for TEA designation. To determine whether your EB-5 project location falls within a TEA, please consult our free EB-5 TEA map, which includes data for the entire United States. All you need to do is to enter the project address—the rest of the process is automated.

The EB5AN TEA map relies on the most recently published versions of two data sets, namely American Community Survey (ACS) five-year data and Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data. It assesses TEA eligibility based on four calculation methodologies USCIS accepts—three related to calculating unemployment rates and one related to qualification as a rural TEA. Unemployment rates are calculated using (1) American Community Survey (ACS) five-year unemployment data by census tract, (2) the census-share methodology, which is based on a combination of ACS data and county-level BLS data, and (3) BLS county-level data for TEA determination on a county-wide level. To determine rural qualification, population and geographical data are considered. To qualify as a TEA, a project site needs to qualify under only one calculation method.

A TEA can also be created by combining directly adjacent census tracts and considering the weighted average unemployment rate. The EB5AN TEA map performs this function automatically.
