The United States issues two general types of visas: nonimmigrant visas, which are issued to foreign nationals who wish to visit, study, or work in the U.S. on a temporary basis, and immigrant visas, which allow foreign nationals to enter the United States and obtain a Green Card (permanent resident status). The EB-5 Visa is an immigrant visa that allows a foreign national to make an investment in a U.S. enterprise and, if all of the criteria are met, gain permanent resident status.
