Three reasons to affiliate with EB5AN’s Oregon EB-5 regional center
1. You will be able to begin raising EB-5 capital right away.
EB5AN’s State of Oregon Regional Center has geographic coverage for the entire state of Oregon, so if you affiliate with our EB-5 regional center for your Portland project, you will be able to begin raising EB-5 investment capital immediately. EB5AN’s numerous functioning regional centers have all been approved by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
2. You will be able to count indirect jobs in addition to direct jobs in the total job count, making it easier to meet the 10-job requirement for each EB-5 investor.
When investors place their money in EB-5 projects that are affiliated with a regional center, they have the added security of being able to count indirect jobs toward the total job count. For direct investments that bypass a regional center, only direct employees of the new commercial enterprise can be included when a total job count is taken. Regional center investments also allow project developers to raise a greater amount of EB-5 capital since more jobs can be created, permitting more investors to be involved.
3. You will be able to quickly complete the affiliation process and kick off your project.
EB5AN has an experienced team of specialists who can help you get your project affiliated with our regional center as quickly as possible. We can help you identify the number of jobs your project will create, the amount of capital you should raise, and whether or not your project meet our regional center’s affiliation criteria. Renting or affiliating with our Oregon EB-5 regional center may be the best decision you ever make for the success of your EB-5 project.
We can help you complete your application for regional center approval in a mere three weeks.
If you are interested in starting your own regional center, we can help you with that, too. Regional center approval requires the completion of Form I-924, Application for Regional Center Designation Under the Immigrant Investor Program. The application can be somewhat complicated, and having someone with experience in all the legal, economic, and business aspects of the process can be valuable to a successful application. EB5AN has extensive experience with I-924 applications, both with completing the application and going through the adjudication process. At this point in time, EB5AN’s regional centers cover more than 20 states, and EB5AN has finished more than 300 USCIS-compliant business plans and economic impact studies.
To find out more about getting approval for your own EB-5 regional center, contact a member of our team. We will get back to you within 24 hours.
Designated targeted employment areas
Because targeted employment area (TEA) designation holds numerous benefits for EB-5 projects in Portland and other cities, it is important to understand both the benefits of and the USCIS process for TEA designation. To determine whether your EB-5 project location falls within a TEA, please consult our free EB-5 TEA map, which includes data for the entire United States. All you need to do is to enter the project address—the rest of the process is automated.
The EB5AN TEA map relies on the most recently published versions of two data sets, namely American Community Survey (ACS) five-year data and Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data. It assesses TEA eligibility based on four calculation methodologies USCIS accepts—three related to calculating unemployment rates and one related to qualification as a rural TEA. Unemployment rates are calculated using (1) American Community Survey (ACS) five-year unemployment data by census tract, (2) the census-share methodology, which is based on a combination of ACS data and county-level BLS data, and (3) BLS county-level data for TEA determination on a county-wide level. To determine rural qualification, population and geographical data are considered. To qualify as a TEA, a project site needs to qualify under only one calculation method.
A TEA can also be created by combining directly adjacent census tracts and considering the weighted average unemployment rate. The EB5AN TEA map performs this function automatically.
If you confirm that your EB-5 regional center is located in a TEA in Portland, you can also use the EB5AN TEA map to instantly download a free TEA Qualification Report that shows all the data and calculations that support TEA qualification for your project location.
