For direct investments, there may be little recourse in the case of a denied I-526 Petition since much if not all of the investment funds will likely have been spent by the time the I-526 is adjudicated. For investments in projects sponsored by regional centers, however, a refund mechanism may be in place for denied I-526 Petitions. Generally speaking, such refunds do not include any administrative fees paid by the investor to the regional center.
