Can investing in a residential real estate development project work for EB-5?

While the purchase of real estate does not qualify as an EB-5 investment, investing in a real estate development project may qualifyas long as the necessary amount of capital is invested in a new commercial enterprise (NCE) and results in the creation of at least 10 full-time, permanent jobs. Residential real estate developments don’t typically meet the job creation requirement through operating jobs ,and so construction expenditures are oftenused to calculate employment creation.
